This has to be one of the all-time greatest inventions. This (and PEX) makes plumbing so much easier than 15 years ago when you had to sweat copper.

I was replacing a tub/shower and installed these so I could have localized shut-offs. They easily allowed me to minimize the time the water was off in my entire house. I turned the water off, used a pipe cutter to cut off the hot and cold water runs near the bathroom, then slipped one of these on each pipe and made sure they were turned off. The water was back on throughout the house in 5 minutes! Then I went ahead and ran the new plumbing for shower/tub using PEX. The PEX slipped right into the opposite side of these Sharkbites making a perfect connection. Using these and PEX is so simple it makes me want to re-plumb my whole house!

I installed this valve today on 1/2 copper pipe so that I could turn off the water to our hose outside rather than having to turn off the whole house. I strongly recommend watching videos about properly prepping the copper pipe before installing the SharkBite fittings. It is critical that the copper pipe is cut straight, and the inside and outside edge of the end of the pipe is smooth and clean. I used a pencil like knife, a debur tool, to shave the edge off the inside. I used the SharkBite debur & measurement tool to debur the outer edge. And I used a metal bristle tool to clean the inside of the pipe of any shavings. It also had a place to brush the outside and clean it up.

You have to push the fitting on as straight as possible and push firmly until it is fully connected. I am so happy with this valve. I highly recommend it!

I just installed two of these for my garden hose spigot basement shut offs(along with two new Sharkbite exterior hose bib valves) for front and back hose spigots. They work great and are super simple to install. I recommend that you also get the tong removal tool if you think you may need to remove the valve in the future. They go on easily but can be difficult to remove if you need to. The little C clip removal tool doesnâ€™t work for me. The tongs make removal much easier. I love all the Sharkbite products and Iâ€™ve never had a problem with any I have used I the past. Their great for tight cramped locations where it would be difficult or even dangerous to use a soldering torch.

If you have never used SHARKBITE plumbing accessories and tools,then you have worked too hard on your repairs and installations. These are the top of the line folks. Once you get what you need and the right size,they are so EASY to put on that ANYONE can do it. Cut water line,debur the end,slide on the SHARKBITE connector,give it a quick pull in the opposite direction,and your DONE. I put two of these on underneath a garden tub in less than 15 minutes for both. No leaks,no assembly tools,just a cutter and debur tool ,both of which SHARKBITE sells. Guys it doesn't get any easier than this.

I love the Shark Bite product line. I had a water line to a toilet that had no shutoff valve other than the leaky one at the toilet. I needed to add a valve to the water line in the basement so that I could change the valve at the toilet. I did have to turn off the water to the entire house to cut the water line. I sanded the water line to clean it prior to cutting and installing this Shark Bite valve took about 15 seconds once the pipe was cut. I was able to get the valve on and closed before all the standing water even ran out of the pipe. I have had no leaks and it works perfectly. Having worked to solder valve connections on before, I can say that the Shark Bite is infinitely easier. Soldering the last connection typically creates pressure in the pipe that makes it difficult to get the solder to flow properly. Using the Shark Bite eliminates that problem and the pipes can be wet, which is impossible when soldering. I have used these a few times before and they are highly recommended. I also used another Shark Bite valve at the toilet to eliminate the need to solder a new one there also.

I needed to install a shut-off valve in the middle of existing copper water pipe where soldering was not possible. And so the SharkBite was an obvious option. I had to cut off a piece of pipe (about 1 inch) to adjust the new valve. I also sanded the ends a little bit to remove any roughness. However, it was difficult to push the pipe in place, it required much more force that I expected. The good thing was that I marked the pipe as per instructions. But I really had to force one end with a rubber hammer. Crazy, but I had no other option to put it all the way in. After installation I realized that the valve could rotate around the pipe. Quite scary! Well there are no leaks, but I always hold it when I shut the water off. It has been working well for two weeks now. If won't fail in a longer time period, I will possibly add a star or two.

2 Day Delivery... perfect. First time use. Used this in a basement corner above ledge in a very awkward location to get to. We were unable to get the old style shut off removed using a torch so eventually had to cut it off with an oscillating saw (also bought on Amazon). This sharkbite worked like a charm. Once the existing copper pipe was cleaned up, it slid right on and so far, it does not leak! Will definitely buy again. The only thing is that the price on these is high, so might try the other brand next time... we'll see. Other than price, love this for getting into an impossible place in an old house. Thank you Amazon.

Shut the front tap!

I've been meaning (for 8 years now) to run a water line from our house into our attached garage. The main reason was for our fridge ice maker but I also wanted a hose access for those winter months. I finally decided to tackle the project.

These are simply amazing. So easy to use and super fast. Once you prep your line properly, you simply push the line in the fitting, make sure it's seated all the way and Done! No more soldering. These are amazing especially for close quarters. Even if you mess up, you can simply remove them and fix your error.

I have this one at the end of a temporary line that will go out the side of the garage this summer for an outside hose. (all the way to right of image) It's acting as cap right now but will be used to shut off the outside water during the winter months.

Overall, these are a lifesaver. I know many people say these type of fittings don't last but I've seen homes that have had them for years with no leaks. I took a chance with these and I'm confident they will last a long time (hopefully forever). I highly recommend these especially if plumbing is not your thing.

Use this valve in my RV at the pex connection to my water heater tank. I had to remove the inner tubes due to the pex has a small inside diameter. No leaks !!!
